This is a recording of Roy Gould broadcasting the first show of Micmac Magazine, on CHER Radio, 1975. He is speaking on various community events happening, including the Union of Nova Scotia Indians recent Assembly.

Roy Anslem Gould was the son of Virginia Gould of Membertou, N.S. Roy was a journalist, politician and at a very yound age founded the long running publication; The Micmac News.

In 1969, at the young age of 23, Roy was elected Chief of Membertou.

Roy served as the broadcaster for the Micmac radio program; Micmac Magazine, which ran from 1970 - 1974. He was also the driving force behind the Annual Treaty Day celebrations and served as its' coordinator for many years. Roy was an elected counclor for his commuity, a position which he held at the time of his passing in 2004.
